I don't think having played or not having played the game is really an excuse for getting that wrong. I think there's a certain type of referee in the Premier League now where the tendency is to do nothing. And then if VAR then needs to intervene, then it intervenes, but at the same time it has to intervene over its high bar. The rules were developed so that people could make the best decisions in the moment. As a result, the rules are like incredibly broad on certain things. So we will tolerate all the nonsense that goes with it. It never should have been sold like that because it's ridiculous. But that is still what happened and that's what's right
