McCoy Tiner is such a lyrical player, so much harmonic imagination. He's telling a whole epic story in the solo. A lot of that is just understanding what Elvin Jones and Jimmy Garrison bring to the table. You can't decouple these different elements, but never underestimate just the supreme musicianship of a McCoy Tiner.
