The Role of Citizen Activists in Bangalore
In a sensible situation, you would be the perfect person to run for local government. But in India, it ends up going into Samaj because that's filling the gap for the dysfunctional local government. In many Western countries where public infrastructure is very well developed, there is no need for citizens to keep agitating for water, electricity and so transport mobility, etc. We don't just get good governance as some kind of right. We have to co-create good governance in democracies especially.
