The Invisibility of Public Health and Primary Care
Public health has moved in and out of the NHS since 1948. They've never had distinct sort of physical infrastructure around where they work like hospitals and surgeries. It's been quite hard to see public health within the NHS, their position in the hierarchy has also been quite lowly. I think primary care has a similar imagery problem, perversely because it's the part of the NHS that the public has the most contact with through their interactions with GPs.
