Socrates and Russo in the Apology
Russo presents himself as a Socrates character. He has Socrates praise ignorance and take the side of ignorance against science, arts, learning. But when Socrates is bragging about his ignorance in the apology, he does seem to imply that he wishes he did have knowledge. Russo praises several modern scientists, including especially Bacon,. And we know, so then the question would be, why does he praise Bacon?
