What Does a Life of the Mind Look Like Beyond the University?

Since time immemorial, there has been an idea that engaging with the humanistic tradition and the big ideas, and even things like mathematics trains the mind and the soul in a certain way. And then there's also this idea that universities are about, like, employers value the credential. How do those two things fit together under the heading one projectime? i guess i'll give it a stab. I think what iw say, tat te, i don't think that the intellectual virtues are separate from virtues.
