There's an ongoing existential fear that if we do think this is a virus created in a lab, they could certainly make another virus 10,000 times more lethal than this one and weaponize that. The techniques for doing this stuff, they're not trivial. You can't do it in a school lab, but they are relatively routine now. And yes, it is the bioterrorist threat that we need to take extremely seriously after this pandemic.
