The Importance of Historical Inquiry

I think we can establish that the teachings of Jesus Christ as they recorded in the gospels are invaluable without appeals to tradition, right? We can be reasonably certain from historical inquiry that Jesus really said these things that he really has gone because he really rose from the dead. And so we have access to the invaluable Teachings of Jesus Christ. So that would be my first point, that you can actually use historical investigation to determine which bodies of Christians are being faithful to Jesus' work.
