The Importance of Parents' Engagement in Projects
LZ Granderson's daughter, Laurel, had to do a math project with no help from her parents. He says he was angry about the lack of parental involvement but that she got something out of it. LZ: What you did was encourage her to become her own best self advocate. Kids who can self advocate are going to get a better education anywhere they go than kids who can't stand up for themselves and tell people what they need.
