For juniors, you kind of need to pay more attention and give them more specific feedback. I take a lot of time to ask questions and hear responses from people in terms of their career. What would you like to do? What interests you? What excites you? What are you passionate about? The more junior engineer doesn't often doesn't know. And so if we establish that the person feels that they aren't normally interested in that area, then perhaps they could spend some time exposing them to what is possible.
