The Power of Altruism in Politics
In order to survive, we have to be a little bit selfish. But there are lots of opportunities in which we sacrifice. I think altruism is very powerful in politics. So for example, and I don't know how it works in Bolivia. In California the rich always vote to raise their own taxes. They vote to regulate themselves,. all driven by altruism. It's not about what's good for them; they're taking into account what'sgood for us.
