The Ethics of Self-Knowledge
Descartes was a close friend of Chanu's. Descartes would keep his address anonymous. He lays out something that you can see as a summary of a strand in the meditations. This is a way to come to the law of God. It's very difficult, he says it's strenuous, not everybody can do it. But once you get to it, you will come to this point. And he's clear about what this will mean. The rest you won't be called to have to answer for.
