The Importance of Witnessing the Art of Art
There was a kind of a savage joy and fear in this performance. So in that sense it was very evocative of exactly what in Bongwa said in terms of the audience's witnesses. I think interestingly things that slightly annoyed me recalling Tate Liverpool the day before when I've been angry about the lack of activism of the art of art somehow because of this performance it elevated them for me. It made me think yes okay I can sort of engage with it and as you say be more of a witness but it's tricky so often these words.
