Do You Think Your PhD Really Helped You?

Roxanne Jones: I did not know about me, or I did not see myself as being specifically in scientific communication still very, very late in my life. She says she decided to do a PhD out of a passion for nutritional biochemistry and wanted to invest her time dedicating to getting into a PhD program that would allow her to do research. But once she was done with her PhD, she realized there were other careers available outside of academia. "I think the payoff in industry is a lot more quicker than in academia," said Jones.
