The Story of Richard Speck and the Nurses

Richard Speck was wrapping up a night of heavy drinking when he broke into the house. He tied up six nurses and threatened them with a knife and a gun. The women thought that if they remained calm and complied, they would be unharmed. One nurse hid under one of the bunk beds while others were taken away in separate rooms. Gloria Davie returned from her date and entered the first floor to call her house mother. She used the phone to check in but Richard confronted her as soon as she opened the door. When he got to Gloria Davy,  she had fallen asleep on the bunk above where Cora Amorau was hiding. As the number of nurses slowly
