Software Engineering Radio - the podcast for professional software developers

CHAPTER

Building a Data Culture in an Unregulated Industry

In a large company, they usually have different kinds of trainings that explicitly spell out what is ok to do in this company. But if you take that same thing in an unregulated industry, maybe, or a small to medium sized company, how do you build that sort of data culture? How do you train your people who are coming in and joining your company about what your data philosophy or principles are,. Or data governments policy? It's a really good question, and something that often gets overlooked. And i think even more than that, it's just being purposeful. We literally have an entire chapter in the book dedicated to culture because that's how important we feel it is.
