Carjacking in DC

The maximum sentence for armed carjacking has been reduced from 40 years to 24 years, even though the harshest penalty for that crime is around 15 years. Carjacking that includes bodily injury is reduced from 21 years to just four years. They reduced the maximum sentence for first degree murder from life without parole to 40 years. The city council passed it late enough in cause Bowser vetoed it. It just, they just did it really with poor timing and bad PR.
