The liver is a battery. It's a rechargeable battery at that. It releases energy when we're under stress, when our energy expenditure is high. And the liver detoxifies. So it takes nitrogenous compounds and it'll scavenge the carbons and turn them back into glucose - then make urea from the nitrogen that it gets. Okay, the liver does everything.
