Moula Sadra was a thinker in Safarid Iran who lived roughly between 1571 and 1635. He's arguably the most important philosopher theologian exegit of that period. Was he actually perceived as being the main philosopher of his time in his own day? Not necessarily, although within a few years of his death, we do have some contemporaries referring back to him.
