Empedocles' Philosophy of the Universe

Empedocles is a wandering healer with access to powerful magic. In Fragment 6 he tells us of the four roots of all things, Zeus and life-bringing Hera in Idoneos,. Nestis, who moistens with tears the springs of mortals. He also propounds two other eternal principles, the active, organizing cosmic forces of love, filotes, and strife, naikos.
