Xenophon's 'Tomb of the Lacdam Ans'

Archaeological evidence has revealed the so called tomb of the lacdam ans in the burial grounds of the caramigus outside the walls of athens. 14 skeletons with spear and arrow wounds were found carefully laid out in three chambers. Accommodating spartan tradition, the warriors were buried without grave goods. The amnesty declared that all compelled to renounce their bitter grievances was protected legally from prosecution. Most importantly, a general amnesty was agreed upon for the first time on such an historical record.
