Is Feedback the Center of the Work We Do?

Research shows that the feedback teachers give isn't effective. It doesn't actually have an impact on students, she says. Teachers are put in this precarious position where we're made to feel like we have to constantly defend the grades that we give. So if there's ways that we can de-center that measurement so that students can do that work of self-reflection and metacognition without it being associated with a grade then I would be very impressed.
