One out of eight drugs that's developed by the pharmaceutical company has a new or significantly improved effect. Take a guess what the median price of a new drug is in 2022. To the consumer like it without insurance retail price will be $250,000 per year. The problem is not how can someone without insurance afford it. That's not the way they look at it. They look to extract as much money from Americans as we can.

Today on the podcast, Paul talks with John Abramson, American physician, lecturer at Harvard, and author of the books, Overdosed America: The Broken Promise of American Medicine and Sickening: How Big Pharma Broke American Health Care and How We Can Repair It. They have the important conversation about the problems with profit-driven pharmaceutical companies, conflicts of interest in the medical world, and how changing medical education and the system at large is integral for a patient-focused path forward.
