The Young Ring Hypothesis
Some astronomers think that the older rings system like that would get, the rings would become darker. But not everyone agrees with this overall concept because it sort of does hinge on this moon destruction event matching the suggested age of the rings. It remains an interesting but unverified hypothesis for now, but it's one of those things we're not going to solve. I don't think at least I can really see how.
