I'm more skeptical of you that this moment where people are applauding essential workers will produce a lasting change in status. And I also see the Vietnam war differently. I think it produced a partisan split in the way the military is evaluated. So, there's so many debate about the value of social contribution touches on contested conceptions of the common good.
