The Banking Concept of Education

Charles Dickens wrote Irolov novels and he wrote about one particular figure who's very well known in education, so-called commonly referred to by progressives called Thomas Gradgrind. He said: Teach these boys and girls nothing but facts. Facts alone are wanted in life. Plant nothing else, root out everything else. You can only form the minds of reasoning animals upon facts. Nothing else will ever be of any service to them. So you can see again the banking theory before of education and the children as vessels to be filled with facts. These things repeat themselves over and over and over again and you'll get sick of them one day if you hear them enough and I'm sick of them
