The Fortran Compiler
IBM sent a deck of cards with the Fortran compiler in it to one of its clients. It was probably by mistake, or maybe an overly helpful office worker saw the finished deck and figured it was about time to start handing them out. By the end of the night, they'd made a grand total of two copies - pretty far away from their target. But despite the bumbling on big blues part, it all came together pretty well.
