Virtue ethics need something like utilitarianism as the theory of that you go to to decide what the virtues are. So there is a kind of, there is some consequentialism embedded in Stoicism, but it doesn't quite like it. The Stoics didn't necessarily get the right answers to things like how do we treat women? How do we treat slaves? And then we've got people like Jerry Bentham being one of the earliest people in modern times to argue for gay rights.
