Florida's department of education recently announced that it was banning 54 mat books on the grounds that they teach critical race theory. The most commonly bad book is myca baby's genderqueer, a memoir which has been removed from at 30 school libraries. Governor glen yunkan claims inherently devisive concepts like critical race theory instructs students to only view life through the lins of race and presumes some students are consciously or unconsciously racest.
Some conservative parents are trying to get books about race and sexuality banned from libraries and schools. Author Clint Smith says it’s dangerous to ban books to eliminate discomfort.
