The Manhattan Project and the Trinity Test
The Manhattan Project was a major effort during World War II to build an atomic bomb. Only about 2% of the money was spent at Los Alamos in New Mexico. The project began because the War Department and the Emigrei scientist community was deeply concerned that the Nazis would create an atomic bomb, he says.
