Kyle and Georgia says my retired mother is thinking about buying an EV eligible for the credit. Would it be a good idea for her to take money out of her 401k to create a tax liability so that she can claim the full tax credit? You'd have to be with a really terrible financial institution that would charge you for electronic bill pay.
