There isn't really a parallel in the UK. We've got a very centralised government. In Germany, I think there's a lot of power devolved to the regions on LENDER as they're called. The American sort of tax system is is complicated because so much of it is devolved to states that the individual states will have a lot more power to both raise taxes and you know vary how they spend money. And some of those sort of comparisons between household budgets and governments are false.
