The author's aunt and uncle grew up in a mono culture, attended the same church their entire lives. They were reasonably fortunate; they weren't systemically targeted for bias or discrimination. Other than catching a break, it's really important to do a lot of foundational work on the way to getting to what's difficult, she says.

Before becoming the “Buddhist brain guy” Dr. Rick spent over 30 years working in private practice as a couples counselor and family therapist. Today we’re leaning on that experience, and learning what we can do to build healthier, happier, and more fulfilling relationships.
