I think God wanted them to take the fruit, but he knew we would, right? I do. There's no opportunity to prove you're a good moral virtuous person unless you enter this space. Every genocide, every act of rape or child, sexual exploitation, everything, every horrible thing that ever happened happened because of this original sin.
