In galatians three and four, paul basically says that the mosaic covenant was like a tutor or a guide, or a baby sitter. So that it's this intermediate, temporary arrangement that is to preserve the purity of the people until christ would come. And i think it's right to understand the new covenant as the fulfilment of the abrahamic covenant.
