Introduction

Sudhir Venkatesh is a sociologist at Columbia University. He spent the first couple decades of his career embedding himself with drug gangs and gunrunners, sex workers. Sudhir wrote an amazing book himself called Gang Leader for a Day. And that is how he suddenly found himself in Silicon Valley working at Facebook.
