The Little Mermaid Story
I'm interested in where think about ambiguity and different worlds running into each other, as to where your archaeological training meets the idea of writing fiction. The mermaid in this story felt like such an important little key that would open up the way that people conceive the world. I think women's clothes are always important to them and to the way they present themselves. And it felt like that was a really revealing way to talk about people who might not have left any text in the historical but actually we have things like their clothes. That kind of material, material culture element of things is unbelievably important for me to understand characters and their priorities.
