I think the very important thing to remember is intrusive thoughts are extremely common almost everyone if not. People engage in some cognitive distortions like thought-action fusion where they quit having a thought with acting on those thoughts or something called emotional reasoning. We don't wake up in the morning with a menu being like we'll take 10 of these thoughts one of these thoughts none of that this will take in the afternoon and this one will have a dinner with my dessert Like that's not how it works but often we intuitively believe that we are controlling thoughts.
