The Power of Memory in Virgil
Hu: Memory is psychotherapeutic in Virgil in some ways. In the confessions, we have this statement as he's going on from the death of his mother to actually his search for and biography of life with God. He says, great is that power, memory, too great, oh God. And he goes on to give you a whole book, which is just devoted to the topic of memory. Hu: There's a therapeutic aspect to memory, by having memories and reminding ourselves of things.
