A new study shows that on average things are actually unchanged in the last decade. The report was published this week by a group of academics from around the world. It looked at how democracy is measured using crude measures such as incumbency rates and elections. John Defterios says it's not obvious which way those measures should go if we indeed have the decline of democracy but they're really flat.
