The German Resistance Isn't Talked About Much Today

The conventional narrative is that they fought for democracy against the unacceptable evils of german narcism, italian fashism and japanese imperialism. The reality was very different, as britain still possessed a vast empire which was not particularly democratic. And western governments had no issues with fasism as such. Even figures painted as legendary anti facists, like british prime minister winston churchill, openly declared his wholehearted support to benio misilini in italy. In addition to the history of the german resistance being sidelined, as with most history, the role of women within it has been sidelined even further.
