Lewis: I tend to spend judgment on issues like that because he knew they were divisive. He wisely took what he could from the Shroud of Tren, but he didn't try to make a judgment about whether or not it was authentic. There's a long tradition of sort of setting up the teeth of John the Baptist or right, right, pinky finger of, you know, such and such. And that's kind of counter both mysticism and a biblicism. It just, it turns the Bible into an idol.
