The Importance of Reason in War
In 2023, it's impossible to think of war as anything other than a very grave matter. As warfare transitioned to this much deadlier form in the warring states period, it was increasingly important to take passion out of the waging of war. In some ways, swims as art of war really reflects hyper rationality, if you will, about war. But what the text teaches us is to take war seriously and to adopt a highly calculative strategy.
