I had an open door policy. I absolutely follow up with people that I'm mentoring and I'm aware that mentoring is a social action. That's why it doesn't always happen for people who don't look like or kind of fit the image at a company typically. Like no one is going to, you know, as I used to watch happen, like take me to a baseball game. And so those informal systems end up doing it. Is that work that you can get better at? Yeah, for sure. How else did that manifest other than a first day email? Well, needless to say, I'm a talker.

“I think there is journalism inherent in an interview. Like the interview itself should be considered a piece of journalism. It isn't always. Sometimes the vibe is that it’s a little window dressing or that it's personality driven and I don't subscribe to that. I think that it has its own journalism. It's my journalism.”
