i went to russia for the first time in my third year of university. I kind of figured like, if you're going to go to another country anyways, you might as well we don't work on learning a new language while you're at it. So i'd say that it's really just about your environments. Like when i was there, i was obviously studying every day at the university so that helped a lot.
