J.L. Bair Gay's Plane Crash
It would later come out that the plane crash wasn't the first time J.L. Bair Gay had tried to murder his wife. About five months beforehand, he reportedly approached a friend of the family and offered him $500 to murder Rita by poisoning her wine. He also wrote a lengthy statement to the Crown prosecutor where he not only admitted his own guilt but said that he had not acted alone. Jean-Éruouou was found guilty of being an accessory to murder and was sentenced to death.
