The Role of Mate Value in Jealousy

Could it have at least sometimes anything to do with comparing mate value? For example, if someone is in a polyamorous relationship and suddenly they're primary partner. Could that be a trigger for jealousy, in that case? I could absolutely see that. However, I did once several years ago collect some data. This has not been published. So take everything with a grain of salt. But what we found is we did record mate value using something called the Trait Specific Dependents Inventory.
