Evolutionary Algorithms: The Future of Computer Hardware

I don't think they used too much evolutionary algorithms to create AlphaGo. It's not really suitable for GPUs which are already massively parallel but CPUs will be in the future and I think that will be the driving factor. Also evolutionary approaches can be combined with neural networks. In many ways like the NEET approach the neural evolution of augmented topologies it's quite popular in research but it's very computationally expensive. That's why it's not very popular in applications in real life, so maybe one day a combination of both techniques could work.
