The First Golden Week in the Post-Pandemic Era
Labor Day was first celebrated in China nearly 100 years ago. This year's Labor Day Golden Week is different, because it's the first one in the post-pandemic era. An estimated 274 million people travelled by air, rail, waterway or by road over five days. The number of people taking trains on Saturday reached a single-day peak of 20 million. Sichuan Province reported ticket revenues for its 830 national-rated scenic sites on Sunday surpassed the same period in 2019.
