The Importance of Turnout in the 1930 Election

The 1930 election saw the Nazis and Communists gain seats in the Reichstag. The Nazi Party gained 6.3 million votes, taking them from 9th to 2nd most popular party. This made it impossible for a right-wing or left-wing coalition to be formed. Hitler was not allowed to become Chancellor without being part of that coalition.
